Spotify Feature Redesign

As a personal project, I decided to redesign a feature of the Spotify desktop app which I believe could use further development. I was interested in better understanding an app that I use on a daily basis.

Through analysis and firsthand experience, I believe that a prominent way for Spotify to maintain its edge over other music sharing platforms would be for the social messaging component to be improved, for users to be able to share and discuss music. This social emphasis would set the app apart from other music streaming platforms.

I began by mapping and creating wireframes of the existing desktop app in Illustrator, and then moved into creating a prototype for how the app’s social component might be re-envisioned.
