Woods Bagot Icons
These are 5 icons that I created for a Woods Bagot studio-wide competition, for the firm’s People & Culture division – how the firm speaks about its work culture.
I chose a hexagon shape as the unifying element for the icons. Hexagonal patterns are prevalent in nature due to their efficiency, from bees’ honeycombs to molecular structure. In a hexagonal grid each line is as short as it can possibly be if a large area is to be filled with the fewest number of hexagons. This means that honeycombs require less wax to construct and gain lots of strength under compression.
I chose this shape to represent People and Culture because of its symbolism of strength and efficiency, of small parts making up a whole.
